As the holiday season is upon us, don’t forget to gather your loved ones to go experience the amazing Trail of Lights! The City of Austin has been hosting the Zilker Holiday tree since 1967. The tree stands a stunning 155 feet tall and contains well over 3,000 lights. But before you head out, below are three things you need to know to make your night a go as smoothly as possible.
1) The First week is free: No charge on Dec. 10-16; but general admission is $3 on Dec. 17-23 for people 12 and up.
2) The Trail of Lights is a walking trail only, so you cannot drive your car. Wear the proper shoes and clothing to walk about 2 miles round trip!
3) ALL LANES of Barton Springs ROAD. will be OPEN in all directions, November 27 – December 2; December 4 – 9 and December 24 – 31.
